A Note From The Founder
I want to be as transparent as possible, because transparency has been missing from dating for a long time.
Satya is now live.
I built it because I became frustrated with what dating apps had turned into: endless browsing, mixed intentions, people collecting matches they had no real interest in meeting, and very little accountability for how people treated each other.
I didn’t want to build another app that simply gave people more people to swipe through.
I wanted to build a better environment for actually getting to know someone.
That means Satya works differently.
We limit how many connections you can focus on at once. We ask people to be clear about what they’re looking for. We require a video introduction because honesty should start before the first date. And we’ve built accountability into the product, because how you treat people matters here.
Satya isn’t designed to keep you endlessly engaged with a dating app.
The goal is to help you meet someone so you eventually don’t need one.
But there’s another part of building Satya that I want to be honest about.
Dating apps depend on local density. It doesn’t matter how good the product is if there aren’t enough compatible people nearby.
So rather than launching everywhere and pretending otherwise, we’re building Satya city by city.
Right now, that means concentrating our efforts in a small number of communities, bringing enough intentional singles together for the app to actually work, learning from them, and expanding from there.
That growth may be slower than launching nationally overnight.
I’m okay with that.
I would rather build something thoughtfully than recreate the same problems I built Satya to challenge in the first place.
Satya is for people who are single, interested in a monogamous relationship, and willing to treat the people they meet like actual human beings.
You don’t have to be perfect at dating.
You do have to show up honestly.
